ArmorGroup’s well-equipped and experienced Convoy Escort Teams (CET) support and protect clients’ lines of communication and the movement of critical cargo and equipment in some of the world’s most hostile environments.

ArmorGroup has been successfully escorting high value development and reconstruction cargo for the US, UK and Japanese Governments and major international organisations throughout Iraq since April 2003. ArmorGroup is currently the largest convoy protection company in Iraq and in 2007 its CETs conducted almost 2,400 missions in support of reconstruction efforts throughout Iraq, almost 30% of registered convoys in the country. ArmorGroup is also proud to have the highest successful delivery rate of any company in the highest-threat areas in Iraq.

ArmorGroup’s CETs in Iraq are manned by a combination of international, third country nationals and local Iraqi security operators. All convoy security personnel are recruited and vetted through the ArmorGroup Human Resources department to ensure they have the correct blend of operational and regional experience and are then given comprehensive pre-deployment training at ArmorGroup’s dedicated security training facility at Al Hillah, outside Baghdad.

ArmorGroup CETs are the best trained and equipped logistic convoy security providers in Iraq, with each team having the following equipment as standard issue:

• B6/B7 armoured vehicles;
• Full Personal Protective Equipment, including helmets and body armour, for all team members;
• VHF, HF, satellite and cellular communications;
• 2 GPS satellite tracking transponders with “panic button” facility;
• Firearms relevant to the task;
• 4 comprehensive medical trauma packs;
• Comprehensive breakdown recovery and life support equipment for all vehicles.
