MINE ACTION SERVICES

Armed conflict has left a tragic legacy of landmines and unexploded ordnance (UXO). These weapons remain long after the conflicts have ended and continue to indiscriminately maim and kill. They deny the productive use of land and hamper economic reconstruction and infrastructure upgrades, impacting whole communities. The international endeavour to remove the menace of landmines and explosive remnants of war (ERW) requires co-ordinated efforts from governments, international humanitarian and peace organisations and businesses.

ArmorGroup’s Weapons Reduction and Mine Action division is a commercial leader in:

  • the survey, removal and clearance of landmine and unexploded ordnance (UXO) pollution;
  • battlefield area clearance;
  • explosive ordnance and Improvised Explosive Device (IED) disposal;
  • ammunition stockpile destruction;
  • the removal and abatement of small arms and light weapons (SALW).

ArmorGroup operates globally, supporting sustainable humanitarian and reconstruction programmes to remove the menace of landmines and UXO as well as assisting commercial clients to conduct their business safely in post-conflict regions.

Over the last 11 years ArmorGroup’s Mine Action teams have operated in 24 different countries: Afghanistan, Albania, Angola, Azerbaijan, Bosnia, Cambodia, Chile, Colombia, Croatia, Cyprus, Ethiopia, Iraq, Kosovo, Kuwait, Laos, Lebanon, Libya, Mozambique, Nepal, Poland, Senegal, Sudan, Russia, and Turkey.
